Saints Row devs 'not support down' over reboot criticisms
Saints Row developer Volition told fans it's "not backing down" o'er the reboot afterward the announcement trailer divided opinions.
The bring up was announced at Gamescom this week, waving adieu to the former Third Street Saints pro a ragtag quaternion of wannabe crime bosses. As VGC reports, the drone has a startling telephone number of dislikes across various YouTube channels, often outweighing or closely matching the number of likes.
Glancing at the Twitter replies to the game's announcement and you'll constitute met with much of the same criticism. The Saints Row account decided to cheekily answer to one comment with a "haters gonna hate" GIF, before more seriously responding that the studio is "not backing down on this game" and the developers "get information technology, it's new and it's a ball over reaction to a bring up corresponding no other."
We are not financial backing down on this game. We get it, it's new and IT's a offend reaction to a boot like no other. The gif was supposed to convey that.August 26, 2021
The bulk of outcry seems to be sexual climax from the feeling that the reboot doesn't retain the same 'feel' as older Saints Row games. Information technology makes signified in a way—while the serial publication took a bit of time to find its individuality, it grew into its own unparalleled thing by the time Saints Quarrel: The Third released. But American Samoa studio development director Jim Boone told press in an off-hands preview, those games don't feel as conquer in today's climate.
"We love [the onetime Saints Run-in games], but we also recognise those games are of a time," he said. "They successful sense within that era, and we were able to do things that felt adept back then. But that tone is not something that we feeling like we want to do now."
I personally likable the pok, and am stoked to see what a nonclassical-day Saints Row can bring in to the table. I'm never a huge fan of CGI trailers that give no indication of actual gameplay though, and then I'll be excited to construe if that still retains the gray Saints Row tomfoolery.
Saints Row launches February 25, 2022 as an Heroic Games Store exclusive.
